Yes, you read that right. The “RTX 4090” sitting on top of the micro-ATX case in the PC build teardown? It’s a 3D printed pencil case.
I found the model somewhere on Printables (or maybe designed it — honestly, at this point my print history is a blur) and thought it would be hilarious to put it on top of the tiny PC for scale. The joke worked a little too well — several people genuinely believed I had a 4090 just sitting around as a decorative paperweight.
The print itself is surprisingly functional. The fan shroud slides off to reveal a surprisingly deep compartment that holds pens, hex keys, and the inevitable collection of M3 screws every maker accumulates. The silver PETG gives it a surprisingly convincing metallic sheen in photos.
This is the kind of print that makes 3D printing fun: technically a “functional” object, emotionally a conversation starter.
